When I was a little girl playing around Laguna Beach and getting the best hot dog in town at Carousel Grocery, I thought my family had found paradise. Thirty plus years later, I am convinced that it still is.

It is really exciting to think that the Lahan family is still running the Carousel and the beach side remains a reserved beach. Laguna Beach was started in 1936 when J.B. Lahan decided to relocate from Birmingham, Alabama and build a little beach home. Thankfully he shared the adventure with others by selling off lots. The price of lots then would not buy you an i-pod.

Laguna Beach was a quiet, still little community and it remains so today. You will know that you are there by the smell of Donuts coming from Thomas Donuts and the Carousel that still has a great little grocery store and the biggest wine selection in the area.
